It may be helpful to you to have some common questions answered before you begin.
I will ask you to sign a Privacy Notice which complies with the GDPR that came into force in 2018. This provides that your personal data will be kept confidential by me and not shared with any third party except where I deem that there is an immediate risk of substantial harm to your self or another or as required by law. It is also a professional requirement that I receive clinical supervision on my work and I may share some of the personal data I hold on you. My supervisor is bound by the same code of ethics and confidentiality as me.
Any notes taken will not be identifiable by name and will adhere to the same confidentiality. I will always let you know of any disclosure before making it, and would seek your permission where possible.
Payment is by transfer to my bank account prior to each session.
Length of session:
Sessions last 50 minutes.
The first session:
The first session will be for you to let me know what has brought you to therapy. I will normally take notes in the first but not in subsequent sessions. At the end of the first session you can either arrange to meet with me again or you may wish to take some time to think about it.
How often will we meet:
The outcome of therapy is dependent on regularity, interest and commitment so we will ordinarily meet at the same time once a week. Once the relationship has been established and if circumstances dictate it may be possible to meet more or less frequently.
I will make brief notes after each session. These will not be identified by name and will be stored securely.
